The 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2017 of the Singapore Business Council (Dubai) will take place tentatively on Thursday, 18 May 2017 and will be followed by a reception.
The AGM gives members the platform to be updated on our past events and future initiatives, to exchange opinions on the direction the Council should proceed as well as network with other members and professionals.
New registrations for membership are welcomed that day.

Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), one of our esteemed corporate member, hosted the first Sharjah-Singapore Business Roundtable this morning.
Our members gained insightful information about the opportunities the Emirate of Sharjah has to offer and heard first hand from the companies that have done well here.

Thanks to all for participating in last weekend's SBC-ABCA Golf Invitational 2016 - for the 3rd year running since its inaugural in 2014! We had an overwhelming record turnout of 57 golfers and some 90 diners for the post-game dinner and prize presentation ceremony. Proceeds for the raffle drive will go towards our selected charity and would be announced soon. Till we meet again next year!

Distinguished guests included Government Officials from five countries namely: Singapore Consul General Cheong Ming Foong, Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes, Malaysia Consul General Yubazlan Yusof and Thailand Consul Prapavadee Boonchuaykuakool & the Indonesian business delegation, led by Indonesian Deputy Consul General Temu Alam.
The topic was on Expo 2020 (20 Oct 2020 to 10 Apr 2021). Commercial vice-president/speaker Gillian Hamburger elaborated on opportunities for businessmen/professional members of the respective councils. She highlighted that AED 5 Billion has been budgeted to provide business to Small & Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
The ASEAN population in Dubai and the Northern Emirates is at 664,689. They include: 601,482 Filipinos; 8,600 Thais; 4,000 Malaysians; 4,000 Singaporeans and 46,607 Indonesians. Members of the ABCA will “enjoy all the member benefits of the participating councils”.

Elections for the new SBC Executive Committee for 2016/2017 will also be conducted at the AGM by all SBC paid-up ordinary members (please note that affiliate members may not vote).
The SBC welcomes all Singaporeans to take the opportunity at the AGM to sign up or renew their individual or corporate memberships. Annual individual membership is priced at only AED 200 for Singaporeans and PRs, and AED 800 for non-Singaporeans. Annual corporate membership is AED 5,000, with many additional benefits including exclusively planned and hosted events centred around the corporate member and extended marketing opportunities.
The SBC will also be announcing an exciting new initiative with a few other ASEAN Business Councils to mutually expand their networks and allow SBC members access to benefits across all alliance business councils, so there has never been a better time to join up!

Over 800 Singaporeans living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) gathered today at Burj Plaza, Downtown Dubai for the Singapore Food Carnival 2016. With local favourites like laksa, chicken rice and rojak dished up by the Singapore Women's group, attendees definitely had their hawker cravings satisfied! The event was organised by the Consulate-General of Singapore in Dubai and supported by Singaporean clubs based in the UAE.
Into its second year running, the Singapore Business Council (SBC) organized the Singapore Golf Day in the Arabian Ranches last weekend for Singaporeans and friends of Singaporeans.
Supported by the Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) and the Consulate General of Singapore in Dubai, the event was also to celebrate Singapore's 50th jubilee year of independence (SG50).

This event is open to all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents as well as their non-Singaporean/PR family members (Spouses/Partners, Children & Parents).
- Ticket holders will be required to show a valid government-issued identification (e.g. NRIC, Emirates ID, Driver's Licence or Passport) at registration along with their tickets (in hardcopy or on their mobile devices) as a condition of entry.
- The organisers reserve the right to deny entry to any person who does not hold a valid ticket and/or identification documents or those who are inappropriately dressed.
- Tickets will only be made available for purchase online. There will not be any ticket sales on the day of the event or through other means.
- Children between 2 through 12 years old will be assigned a seat at the event.
- The organising committee will not entertain any refunds, cancellations or transfer of tickets after ticket sales have been confirmed.
- Seating will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Ticket holders who require special assistance for their children or elderly family members should inform the organisers ahead of time.
